NovaGrid is a growing set of free, browser-based utilities for the small file jobs that come up all the time — converting an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG, turning a video clip into a GIF, pulling the audio track out of a recording, or generating a QR code for a link. The catch with most free converters online is that they upload your files to a server you know nothing about, cap how many you can do per day, stamp watermarks on the result, or bury the tool under pop-ups. NovaGrid was built to avoid all of that.
Each NovaGrid tool uses WebAssembly to run proven open-source libraries — like libheif for images and ffmpeg for audio and video — directly inside your browser tab. When you drop in a file, it is read and converted on your own device and handed straight back to you for download. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued on a server, and nothing is stored by us.
